Javier Navarro is a NOAA CCME Graduate Scholar completing a M.S. in Ocean, Coastal and Earth Sciences at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. Javier completed his research in the area of estuarine processes and plant interactions under the supervision of Dr. Alejandro Fierro Cabo and defended his thesis in June 2020.
He also completed his NERTO at the NMFS Galveston Laboratory in Galveston, TX., with his NOAA NERTO mentor Jennifer Doerr from June 2019 – September 2019. His NERTO title was "The distribution and composition of estuarine nekton species assemblages in a changing salt marsh-black mangrove landscape for NOAA EPP Graduate Student".
