Shirlay Alexander was a NOAA CCME Undergraduate Scholar who completed a B.S. in Biology at Jackson State University. Shirlay is interested in pursuing a career in biomedical sciences and was conducting research dealing with the temporal dynamics of macroinvertebrate communities associated with sand beach and seagrass habitats of the northern Gulf of Mexico. The research was being conducted under the supervision of Dr. Brent Thoma.
