Connie Machuca is recent graduate from USC with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies with a minor in Marine Biology. She loves being outdoors: Enjoying hiking and traveling while also exploring different environmental problems she can tackle. Connie wishes to use her research skills and interests to protect the natural environment. Connie started doing research in a kelp lab on Catalina Island, then transitioned into cnidarian evolutionary ecology. She now wants to focus on bioremediation to help extract pesticides and other toxins from waterways.
